Miriam Cups
The Womens Division of the Jewish Federation of Portland invited 20 Portland women to create original Miriam Cups for the first Womens seder in 1999.
The Miriam Cup is a new ritual object placed on the Passover seder table to symbolize the importance of the Biblical figure, Miriam, the sister of Moses. She found water for the Israelites as they wandered in the desert and led the people in song and dance to celebrate the crossing of the Red Sea.Click on any imaage to expand
