Another Forgotten People... Jews of the Former Soviet Union
Photographs by Sharon Faulkner
June - August, 2000

This exhibit displayed of 40 photographs of Jews living in the former Soviet Union. Faulkner documented the life stories of these extraordinary individuals and families who struggle to maintain their Jewish lives in increasingly difficult circumstances.

Freelance photographer Sharon Faulkner uses her photography as a catalyst for social change. For more than 11 years she has worked closely with United Jewish Committees and other Jewish Organizations on a variety of projects, including photographic essays on the resettlement of Ethiopian and Soviet Jews in Israel. She has become a champion for these people and when not behind the lens of a camera, spends her time talking to Americans about the need to support these forgotten Jews.
