Fruits of Our Labor; Orthodox Jews at Work
Photographs by Yves Mozelsio
July - August, 2000

The award-winning artist Yves Mozelsio used both pictures and words in his portraiture project to explore the personality and character of his subjects. Through this combination of visual and verbal, he presented a penetrating view of individual Orthodox Jews in Chicago. Mozelsio further refined his narrative by focusing on the individual in the workplace, examining the relationship between religious observance and everyday life. The artists thus followed in the footsteps of Studs Terkel's groundbreaking book, Working, by exploring the theme that work is part of the human search for meaning.
