The Art
of Aging, organized by Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute
of Religion Museum, offers viewers an opportunity to see how artists
interpret their own anxieties and joys about the aging process.
Through painting, sculpture, photography, installation, fiber,
mixed media, and video, contemporary artists explore diverse aspects
of aging, including creativity and vitality, memory, anxiety,
wisdom, physical change, loss, inter-generational interaction,
responsibility, and optimism.
You
shall rise before the aged and show deference to the old.
Leviticus 19:32
The exhibit, curated in New York originally, has been expanded
to feature work by four Portland artists, and a portion of the
exhibit is on view for residents and guests at the Rose Schnitzer
Manor and Robison Home in Portland, Oregon.
OJM was proud to co-sponsor the Art of Aging exhibit
with Cedar Sinai Park.
